Materials Needed:

  • Home printer

  • Home laminator with laminating sheets

  • Velcro

  • Painter's tape

Instructions:

  1. Add the desired visual schedule(s) to your cart and follow the checkout process.

  2. Check your email and download the files.

  3. Print out the visual schedule(s).

  4. Use a home laminator to laminate pages 1 and 2.

  5. Cut out page 3 with all activities.

  6. Using a glue stick, attach each activity to the laminating sheet (on the inside) to prevent it from shifting during lamination. Give them space to cut in between.

  7. Cut into individual cards with a small border around each card.

  8. Stick the “hook side” of your Velcro on the center of each square block on pages 1, and 2, and on the space next to “Today is:” on page 1 (allow enough room for the days of the week).

  9. Stick the “loop side” of your Velcro on the backs of the visual cards.

  10. Use painter's tape to hang the visual schedule where it will be visible to you and your child on a daily basis. To cover the label "tape here", place page 1 on top of page 2 and secure them together with the painter's tape.

  11. Arrange the cards according to your child's schedule.

Tips for Use:

  • Review your child's schedule for the day out loud, and point with your fingers as you label each activity or event.

  • Model or demonstrate to your child when an activity is finished, and place the corresponding card under "ALL DONE."

  • Allow your child to put each activity card under "ALL DONE" once they have completed it, to help them get used to the visual schedule.

  • Consistency is key. The more consistent you are, the quicker your child will adapt and learn.
